King Water Speaks

King Water Speaks

A Poem by BlakPrince

when nature cries

My force flows in your rivers, lakes and seas

and seeps relentlessly into the earth,

quietly eroding, infiltrating with ease,

restructuring things that stand in my path.

I'm like rust destroying iron objects with time.

I'm the stream carrying away the hardest rocks.

For your food to grow I work with sunshine,

and unless I live in your body, life stops.

My anger brings floods. My joy brings countless wealth:

I store pearls, fish and crude oil in your ocean.

I'm the drink and bath for your hygiene and health,

and sail your small boat and big cruise in motion.

Within me dwells the power of life and death,

and my power's unaffected by circumstance.

I am King Water, and I rule with Queen Earth;

of all living beings we ask one thing: balance.

Living source so often taken for granted, quenching every thirst no longer needing to drink of water but finding life giving liquid therein🌹

The title pulled me in, and your words didn't disappoint. Solid write!

I was absorbed into the beauty of the imagery that I didn't even consider the message until it hits you with the last line, and the gentle 'ask' makes it seem evil to deny and actively damage nature, which I prefer to the harsher condemning of human choices, something which I should really seek to do in my own writing. Controlled righteous anger. I like very much.

Beautiful message that really makes me want to go down by the river. It would have been interesting to include a stanza on snow as well, but overall very decent work!

Thank you.
I'll take your advice concerning a stanza on snow on board.
I like the subject matter and personification of the element in this, but was distracted by the first person pronouns being repeated. I'd like to see it stripped down a bit to focus on the imagery and revelation of the way that water (literally) permeates our existence.
I commend the perspective and not writing about the purely personal, as well.
Kudos, BlakPrince.

Your style of writing is very Unique and I like it. You have depicted force of water and its importance so wonderfully. its presence in our body, and its benevolent force to its mighty strength to move any object with ease.

Thank you Rani. I appreciate and value your words. I like your style of writing too.
Nature does go about her work in a very effortless way. It's like everything has been planned to the last detail. Sadly, the spanner in the works, is us. Great write.
