Listen When I Say Jenny

This is a poem I wrote for one of my best friends.

 

 

You can’t make wine out of sour grapes

You can’t make manure into gold

You can’t change the past no matter what you’ve been told

But your future is so bright, I can see

So long as you don’t settle for anything less than you deserve

 

So listen when I say Jenny

You’re better than that

There are so many fish in the sea

And there’s one out there for you

You just gotta get out and reel them in

So listen when I say…

Jenny, you’re better than you know

 

I know things are hard in this new life

Years of preparation are never enough

The so called real world is far from real

But you gotta hang in there darlin’

Things will get better, just wait and see

There is so much out there for a girl as wonderful and special as you

 

So listen when I say Jenny

You’re better than that

There are so many fish in the sea

And never let the world bring you down

Never let it take the sparkle from your eyes

You are braver and stronger than you know

Brighter than the greatest of suns

So always remember Jenny

This is so sweet...but, the reapeted strope is a bad idea if you ask me.
I really like the emotions of love and devotion that you express. The fish thing is a bit silly, and I think you might wanna change it ...
