God's Love Is More Than We See

God's Love Is More Than We See

A Poem by Blake Q Hatfield
"

A poem I wrote about what I would see God saying to people in the moder age, or any era for that matter, about their views of the world, love and how we have yet to understand that the love he has for us is all around us, and that when we can see beyond t

"

Listen my children, gather round
I shall teach you what I can
You are limited in this world
But soon you shall return to me and my home

You say I am colorblind
Because I do not judge based on the visions that you see
But I am higher than such thought, I see all the beauty you cannot

If you wish to understand and see me, learn to grow
You must throw your gender roles you have given me out the door
"But how can you be mother, how can you be father"
My children when it comes to love there is no difference
When the world is one, such terms are of no consequence

I have anointed you all in my love
But so many have shrugged it off
You the killer, you the hypocrite, you the hoarder, you the beggar
You the cheater, you the bigot, you the closed-minded, you the judger
Can you hear it, can you feel it
My world hurts and weeps for you
Drop your reservations, drop your ill thoughts
And join us all in friendship and love

"But what of those who you have mentioned
What if they never turn to you, come back home"
Such a saying, of no return
Is only true in the mortal plane
When the time comes, time will be irrelevant
They will see and understand
They will lament, they will regret, but they will learn

My children, with open hearts
My children who live for others, and seize the day
Those that question, those that wonder
You are closer to the understanding
But never fall into comfort of that feeling
Keep reaching, keep going
Keep enjoying and loving
And one day, when you return home
You will understand all my love
Your mortal eyes will be closed
And you will see as I do
You will see the beauty you once could not

So now, I the father, I the mother
I am the one who is love
But such terms, you will see
Can not describe what's in store
When you learn the lessons, and understand
All that life means
And then you shall truly know

Your poem is well deserving of this award

It shows that God doesn't see race or creed. He sees only the heart of a man woman and child. He knows us better than we know ourselves.
