Time Wasted, Moments Missed

Just about how we sometimes loose touch with those that we hold dear, how we can miss so much so quickly.

Quite where all of it went wrong
Seems I have lost a step or two
And I've lost all of you

 

Five year of my life
Wasted all away
Five years in time
When I let you get away
And I just couldn't keep in touch like I should

 

Marriages and babies being born
Moving to new places you weren't before
Climbing the ladders, overcoming the hurdles
Living more and more
On the promise we once had
I wish I could have been there to see your journey
I wish I hadn't lost touch
I wish I hadn't lost time
And more than all of this
I wish I hadn't lost you

Five year of my life
Wasted all away
Five years in time
When I let you get away
And I just couldn't keep in touch like I should

And in the end
What does all this matter
And in the end
Why should we even care
Because all we have is here and now
All we have is memory and friendship
And when friendship is gone
The memory becomes a lovely yet hurtful pain
Haunting us in our dream and the days that go by
Five of my life
Wish I could change it if I could

Time and loss do go hand in hand. As we pass through time, we pass through so many things. Fortunately, not only do we pass through the good, and miss them, but we pass through many things that we will never really miss. Thank you for submitting this to my contest. I enjoyed it.
