Love's a Dirty Word

Love's a Dirty Word

A Poem by Blake Q Hatfield
"

Sometimes saying I love you could mean the world... sometimes nothing that anyone wants to hear.

"

I met you on very long day a time ago
I was walking by myself as my world was starting to turn
Saw your eyes and began to stare
Wondering where you were
You caught me and you said to me
"How about we get to know the world"
And right there and then I knew that we could be

Well today you pulled me right aside
Pushed me outta of your world
All I said was I love you
You said "Well oh no, that's a dirty word"

Well all I needed was for your love of me
But you just pushed me right aside
Told me I lied
That I was absurd
Well I'll just pick myself back up
And try to forget you girl
I'll just walk around this crazy town
Trying to find my world

Well I really don't know just what do
As I float around this little town
With my feet on the ground
My head in the clouds
All the time wondering where did you go

And then I remember you pulled right aside
Pushed me right outta your world
All I said was I love you
You said "Well oh no, that's a dirty word"
And all I tried say was I love you
You said "Well oh no, that's absurd"

a sad story about a person afraid of commitment and the person that loved that person. it is upsetting when the love given isn't returned.

a good write.
