Psychedelic Halloweenie

Psychedelic Halloweenie

A Poem by Blake Q Hatfield
"

Wrote for the "Follow Orders Best" contest. Basically it's kind just going crazy from soemthing you ate during halloween that has completely made you go nuts. No life lessons or message, just sheer nutty and crazy mind going wild writng.

"

Halloween I come alive
Trick or treat to groggy new memories
Captain Planet to Captain Morgan
Drank too much fun, hey bartender here's to you
The pumpkin ate me and I died... Oops!

I walk around Hallows Eve and what do I see
The growlings following after me
Don't know what was in the candy
But oh my how incredibly dandy
The trees are singing to me in chorus
I see distance lantern lights in the forest
The pumpkin ate me and I died... Oops!

I can see the sun in the distance, an early warning
Or is just the moonlight with a neon lighting
Of the reflection in my new drink of pleasure
While wonder how to change the indoor weather
Too cold on this fall moon bean night
I feel heat too close to my right
The pumpkin ate me and I died... Oops!

I wonder who that soul is staring at me
Are those horns or a fracture halo hanging over your head
Dancing around in a circle with the Bears of the Grateful Dead
I skip, stumble and saunter to you outstretched hand
But to my surprise I reach for hand like victory
You picture changes, your image rearranges to me and see
The pumpkin ate me and I died... Oops!

My mind, my mind lost in this visual see
Don't know what's real, what's no more than optical fantasy
My train of thought has lost its caboose
It's an animal that has gone loose
If I'm asleep, Sandman, let me loose
If I'm awake then dust my eyes
Away from this tragic surprise
The pumpkin ate me and I died... Oops!

LOL I lioke it very playful and lots of fun to read.... just one question... when you wrote "The trees are sinning to me in chorus" is sinning supposed to be singing or was that intentional?

Great Write!
