Aphrodite Walks

Aphrodite Walks

A Poem by Blake Q Hatfield
"

sometimes great beauty is divine

"

That devilish smile on your face
The way you walk into a room like you own it
Your hair flowing like the strands of a dream
And I must confess
I like the way you wear that dress

The sparkle from your diamond eyes
Entrance like Icarus flying into the sun
Your words are like sweet soul soothing music
And to feel your slightest touch
Is the sweetest thing I could ever want

The temptation to fall in unavoidable
When a mortal Aphrodite walks
Her golden apple stride more powerful than the sun
You'd swear her scent was ambrosia
The smell of which could make you feel like a god

You graceful and beautiful soul
I'd do anything just to be your champion
Just a whisper from your sweet lips
Is all I'd ever need
And I must confess
I love the way you wear that dress

Author's Note

Blake Q Hatfield
I wrote this about seeing/being around the untimate woman. Someone who is likened to the goddess Aphrodite. I avoided most physical descriptions, because I think that the physical is such a small part of it, it's the whole package really. But please feel free to use your imagination, even sharing thought about who the ideal would be. And if you've already found your Aphrodite, be good to her and tip your hat to her for me.
