Forced to Live

Forced to Live

A Poem by Joshua W. Harris

I wish I could make you understand,
The darkness I have seen.
I know that people all have felt,
And been the places I have been.
But it never stops and the sun is down,
Never to rise again.
I have stopped hearing the sound,
Of the tears that fall as rain.
Acid washed and worn to bone,
I am lost on life's great sea.
It's about time to come on home,
Time to cease to be.
At least that is how I feel,
How I wish it could be so.
But another day I'm sure to steal,
For some reason I can't go.
I am locked in life, denied an out,
It seems I'm here to stay.
Though it hurts much more than death to loathe every passing day.

I could really feel the emotion in this poem; the sadness and pain, the feeling of being lost and unable to find happiness in this life. It is a truly breathtaking piece. Thankyou.

The black dog of depression. Once visited always feared and no one who hasn't been there can understand what it is to feel that way. Though this describes it in a way that may reach even the most cheerful. Beautiful and sad.
