Shelter

Shelter

A Poem by BlankCypher

In this hallowed space, I feel no pain.
Untouched by the burning presence of those who
would share this meaningless existence.

Can I hold that which I feel?
In the palm of my aching hand I visualize all that I know.
Extinguished coldly by the stinging tears of anguish and regret.

However, in the loneliness I find solace.
Fuelling my ambitions.
Blockaded behind my barricade,
broken by the brutish, burning thoughts banished from my mind.
I will ever refuse to emerge, as I know in my heart.

It is safe in here.
