Alone,Surrounded

This is about the world around us. It's in the most basic writing style, this is the first poem I've written in about 3 years please be gentle!

We are alone, we are surrounded.

The screaming and the children's cries

The hatred and all the lies

No wonder God is cutting ties

The leaders that we so despise

Have only money in their eyes.

We are alone, we are surrounded.

The tears and blood shed in the night

Even though it isn't right

Their faces simply are not white

So they're not allowed to fight

All else call it a 'plight'

It replaces 'basic human right'.

We are alone, we are surrounded.

From refugees suffering in the rain

To a world collapsing under strain

Calling humans and animals a 'drain'

When ALL humans are just a stain,

Unable to co-exist to stop the pain,

We are the universe's ultimate shame.

We are alone, we are surrounded.

How could we be so easily led?

To start wars and not care for those that fled?

To not ensure that every child  is fed

To fill ourselves with terror and dread

Because that's what 'our leaders' have said

So fill yourselves with hope dear friends

With peace and love and maybe then

I guess after that it all depends

If we do not learn to mix and blend,

We know this may well be the end.

We are alone, but we're surrounded

So for once lets prove our fears unfounded

Reach out, hold on, and know this lesson:

Love alone makes the hatred lessen.

The outline and style of the poem is simple, but I think that thats a good thing. It doesn't distract from the message that you're trying to convey at all. It's very distant, as if someone were narrating it from outside of our world, and I love it. Keep it up!
