Before, During, and After

Before, During, and After

A Poem by Blemish In The Stars

A formal kiss

A touch, a twist

So begins the dance of love

Lips brush cheek

And slender wrist

A heightened sense of life above

Petal soft skin and slender hips

Lilac hair and silken lips

A flower of perfect beauty

Linking fingers and holding hands

I love you’s and unfinished plans

Tenderness that’s what the world will see

Legs of ivory supple and smooth

Responding to touch, soundless you move

A hint of a smile a warm embrace

I meet you my love, face to face with measured steps

I take my place

Vows are made and promises true

Ring on finger a pledge to forever

To say I love you.

Blemish.
