You're sorry.

You're sorry.

Be careful what you say

Hopes

She wakes up every day hoping it will be better than the last.
maybe today the kids won't notice her body issues,
maybe today they won't make fun of her makeup that she's spent her morning doing,
maybe today they won't make a remark on how she dresses.
II
Cries

She goes to bed with tears resting on her pillow case.
she never fails to let them get her down,
the words hurt her, & the sound of laughter haunts her.
III
Ugly Truth

while she wishes to appear invisible, you make her the joke,
you sit around your ignorant friends and call her every name in the book.
what you have yet to realize is that when her body is found lifeless,
it was nothing but the own fault.
IV
Apologies to the dead

now, you are sorry everyday.
you realize that you never meant any of it.
you miss her.
you wish you could hear her quirky laugh once more.
you pray to her every night and ask her to forgive you,
for there is no hope.
you are apologizing to the dead..
