I Am

I am nothing more than

a passing phase for those who

say they love me.  I

leave a bad taste in your mouth like

the way your throat tastes just before

you black out or just

after you throw up.

I am empowered by my

brand of dysfuntion

because it takes more strength to

be weak and remain alive than

it takes to be anything more.

Anything less would be death.

I am shattered steel.

Very moving, I worry there is nothing useful or that you can do with despair, maybe just a positive side-effect as Gibran describes it. Maybe I read into it wrong, it is not all about that for sure, but I felt despair and resignation or maybe a potential for that, but most of all I feel a oneness and emotional maturity and enlightened introspection, and that element in it. I really like your poem, wonderful poetry, and as I said, I was moved and super engaged.
