Fading

Can you see me when you close your eyes?

When you hear certain words, do you think of me?

My presence ceases to exist next to you,

I'm like a faded memory.

 

Do you think of me at night,

When you are lonely,

If our paths crossed in the future,

Could I whisper delicate secrets in your ear?

Just so you could know.

 

That I see you when my eyes are closed,

Little words make me remember you,

You are not here anymore,

But you will never fade.

 

But all I do is think of you,

Please don't tell anyone,

I don't want to be a fool,

But inside you are still my secret,

My love...

The juxtaposition in the first and third stanzas is wonderful. It really brought out the emotion and contrasted it with his lack thereof. This was one of my favorites of yours :) Well done :)

I hate when I can't get someone off my mind and I think of them day and night and everyone knows who is around me that I am smitten by someone because it shows even when we hide it. Can't hide that glow from an observant watcher. I think this is a sweet write and it made me smile.
