Secret To Happiness

I believe in fate,

But I believe that fate can make mistakes

But that doesn’t mean quit it means raise the stakes

Our mistakes make life interesting

Your heart grows stronger

Every time it feels loves sting

And if you pause to listen

You’ll realise you are special because you are different

They tell you’re fat, so you stop eating

You’re trying to be perfect

But perfection is fleeting

The cliché parents tell you is true

The best person to please in this world is you.

I believe we control our fate. One different turn can put us in a different place. Bad decision can re-direct a life. No-one is perfect. I believe best to do good things and hope for the best. I like the strong ending to the excellent poem.

I'm not so sure if fate can make mistakes. Maybe mistakes are what make our fate or maybe it is us who make mistakes and miss our fate. Who knows? Whatever the ambiguities life may bring, one thing's for sure, we are entitled to ask questions.

Another very good piece!

The only thing that struck me as off was the line,

"They tell you’re fat, so you stop eating"

I think that line would be more effective if you changed it to "...tell you that you're.." or "...tell you you're..."

Otherwise, nice poem; short, simple, and so true!
