The Paradox

The Paradox

A Poem by Bourbon Key

Time forked the last of the fine days

When I flipped the coin of Nature's Free Will

Heads landed and left I sped down the Light's Rays

Was this the Right Path, asked I slightly dazed

Circle back thought I to seek the other thrill

But circles were rejected in the complement of my Mind's maze

Nature's Free Will beckoned me to give it Praise

I said only for another coin flip for second guesses to kill

Heads landed and left I sped down the Light's Rays

Reckon I this point before have been I in a craze

The Witch cited the laws without which life is nil

But circles were rejected in the complement of my Mind's maze

Why does Time have one direction, asked I in a haze.

The Witch retorted, flip the coin and the answer see you will.

Heads landed and left I sped down the Light's Rays

What is the calculus behind this paradox of Nature's Phrase?

Nature's Witch said the answer lies in a flipped coin from the till.

Heads landed and left I sped down the Light's Rays

But circles were rejected in the complement of my Mind's maze.
