the world hasnt harmed you.....yet

the world hasnt harmed you.....yet

A Poem by Boy of the red

Welcome!

Welcome to this cruel world!

You have been born before me,

and i will do my best,

but the cruelty of this world is like no other.

Eventually,

you will die inside as so many others have,

you will have rage you will never understand,

you will have your heart torn apart,

Far more than once.

No one can save you,

not even me.

But for now the world has not harmed you,

It warms my dieing heart to see your smile of glee.

It has not given you its cruelties,

its pains and struggles.

No for now you will be happy,

For now you will have innocence.

I simply hope,

the world doesnt tear it away from you to quickly,

as they did to me.

For now my son,

the world has not harmed you.

Has not harmed you......yet

Great poem. The thing is, you CAN'T protect your kids from everything. :/ You can only prepare them for anything...

"the world has not harmed you.
Has not harmed you......yet"

Great two lines, ^^^ sad, but true.

haha thank you my friend
It's a sad thing...the world can be a tough place, especially in this day and age. There is so much going on right now that children have it far worse than I did when I was born. I understand you wrote this quickly, so I won't point out the little errors in grammar and spelling, but I like the feel of it. This has some power if you were to work on it a bit. Thank you for sharing.

thank you for your review
Wow. Very dark and cruel truth that a mere 10 minutes should not have been able to produce. You have skill that the world, harsh as it may be, would have difficulty taking away from you.

But a word of advice, I got from reading a lot of books, and from life itself: Don't panic for problems in the future, because it won't do you any good. Solve them when they come.

I'm sure you'd do great with kids. The fact that you are thinking this through without them yet, It means you would be doing your best as well.

a dark tale....a fear of the dark world you created...a haunting words of warning...this reminds me that the future is never sure...happiness isn't forever...but we try to live the present for it is what matters for now...
Great work!

thank you my dear friend!
These are dark words spoken, but carry the weight of truth nonetheless. It is certainly true to say that children are protected from harm and see the world different from adults who have faced problems they had to deal with on their own, no ''daddy' to back them up. And even so, what can we do but follow time and see what the future brings us? Why wonder what can happen if so many things can happen, making it almost impossible to think of them all... This poem puts your feet firmly on the ground and reminds us of the many problems that still need attention.
