As A Verb

As A Verb

A Poem by Brad Nugent

these words
are for
the one
I love:

that word
so overused
a basketball
bounded from
back court to
back court
and back again

a word
for meaningless banter
for simple chit-chat
for idle conversations
of little consequence

we need a new word
that you can read
when you look into
my eyes

and feel the intensity
of what the
once was a word
was always intended
to convey

a word that cannot
be spoken
but locked away
in my heart
forever

Ahah, to find that secret language. Clever title, and a clever write!

The word is not enough to mean the word itself. Love. :)

Agreed - very touching and beautiful. Awesome intensity and yearning for understanding.

this is beautiful, simple yet poignant. you have the gift of lifting so much emotion out of words
