Shy

Shy

A Poem by PHFASCES

“Hello there gorgeous” were words I couldn’t say

All I could ever do was sit and admire her

Envying every guy who managed to say something to her

I tried to build the courage to say something to her

It all ended with me choking and walking away

So many great conversations we have

If only they were real

Forever spotting your presence

With a little trickle of thirst in me

I am rendered powerless

Within metres of your presence

We could be lovelier than a pair of doves

But I’m here flying away

But built in me is fear

Broken by anxiety

Wishing I were not shy

So I could just say hi
