The Devil's Prayer

The Devil's Prayer

A Poem by Alice Crypt; Brittany
"

Another one from a dream I had...well at least part of it. the first line was in my dream and the rest I made up. ^_^

"

When the devil’s prayers knock on my door,
he will speak evil words and I will speak no more

The devil whispers in my ears,
he plays a tune only I can hear,
so I close my eyes and shut my ears,
and cast those whispers from my ears

He shows me ways to fight and play,
a sword, a dagger,
they pass my way,
so I shut my eyes from day to day,
with more fear and unwanted play.

I like the fact that you advise how you ignore the temptation without going into the emotional aspect of it. You imply it to some extent, but it leaves the reader to decide whether it's overwhelming to resist, or very easy.
