Keep the Faith

Keep the Faith

A Poem by Bri

What is this?
Surely not love.
A dark abyss,
Suffering and shunned.

Why? We wonder.
Why must it be
That what is near and dear
Is taken from me?

Stone after stone,
Blow after blow.
Innocent children
Left scared and alone.

All that happiness?
Its gone from us now.
We'll get through it, they say,
Though no one knows how.

The evil and hate.
The suffering and pain.
With all hope lost,
Our hearts shatter and break.

Though through all things terrible,
Through new lows and blight,
A flame still burns,
A flame of faith, so bright.

Even though we suffer,
Even though we cry,
The flame serves to remind:
He is what's right.

What does it take to turn the hearts and minds of men to prayer? What brings God to the forefront of their thoughts? Because that is surely the place that God wants, deserves and needs to be...no matter WHAT it takes.
