A Poem by Brielle Cartny

Winning the battle you left me to fight
so thankful, now I'm stronger tonight

The bruises in my head turned to rage
I will never miss your steel cage

Now I made a battle for myself
In transition, but I don't need your help

In agreeance to my ignorance
I've smartened up since

I've gathered my ashes out of the pit
Regrowing, determined, eyes at the slit

Please denounce your love it does no good
My heart once on the sleeve, but now under hood

Human love is so conditional
If it weren't for you it wouldn't be so fictional

My God delivered me out of this mess
I almost died with you, so obsessed

The pain when I breathe feels amazing
It is a sign the hurt is real, but he is still reigning

About
I am heavily influenced by music all around me. There is hardly ever a piece I write that is not composed with a song that has been stuck in my head. Recently my favourites have been Haste the Day, .. more..
