Love doesn't have just one definition. Siblings are supposed to love eachother, but they can't be in love.

A cold look from a beautiful girl

A useless older brother like me could never get a smile from you

Or so I thought

It started with a simple accident;

I bumped into you

Cursing my name, you retrieved the contents of your spilled bag

But you didn’t know, you missed one thing

A picture from long ago;

Just you and me

It seemed there was a time when we got along

Before I left you behind

Before you shot far ahead

Before the makeup, clothes, and friends

It’s been so long now, I don’t remember those days

I looked at that smile painted across your round face

You don’t look too different now,

but you don’t look the same

We made eye contact

But you soon broke away

a shy blush tinted your cheeks

My lips turned upwards at the new understanding

no matter how much you tried to hide it

You still loved your big brother

I knew something had changed

Because for the next few days

I could feel your gaze

on the back of my neck

It happened late one night, I was sleeping soundly

A smack quickly aroused me

My eyes fluttered open, there you were

Indignantly you glared

Life advice is what you sought,

yet I had nothing to offer

Despite that, you pleaded for me to lend you my aid

I obliged as any brother would do

How could I not?

I really do love you

We traveled to your room, I hadn’t been there in years

You stared into my eyes, a burning will

A sudden warmth filled my chest

as you wrapped your arms around me

a silent sob racked your frail body

You wailed loudly that you had missed your brother

But I was always here

I guess you didn’t know

that I had missed you too

The following weeks weren’t quite as I planned

Soon we were closer than ever before

Somehow I had new feelings for you

Romance

It wasn’t allowed

You’re my little sister, but still

I fall

Do you know how I feel?

You consulted me once more

Yet again, I had nothing for you

But just seeing you rely on me

made me smile

Your next three words echoed in my mind

I love you

I wished they meant more

But still I repeated them back

A click of your tongue told me I had misunderstood

Not like a brother

What did you mean?

Unconventional, it may be

you answered my unvoiced question

with a kiss

You’re my little sister

But I’m in love with you

There’s no way my little sister could be this cute
