Beautifully broken, but free

Beautifully broken, but free

A Poem by Brooklyn

God you are and forever will be
The absolute only beautiful part of me
Without you I’m nothing
I’m broken, I’m lost
Only you can restore me
Only you can bring me back into your ‘Bet Av’
Reach out your hand
Pick me up out of this place
Loneliness, emptiness and defeat
Are getting the best of me
I see there is hope
I sense a new beginning
So create in me a new heart
One touch from you
God make me new
Heal my wounds
You can leave the scars
Let them remind me
Of what it was like to be lost
I hid myself away
I was too afraid to leave
Trapped in my own world
Thinking maybe I was winning
But really I was just denying my defeat
Now my eyes are open
And I can clearly see
I’m no longer broken
I’m beautifully free

Author's Note

Brooklyn
'Bet av' is a Hebrew term... In this context it is talking about a family home.
