Psilocybin Sang

Psilocybin Sang

A Poem by Asante.

Hallucinating in hues--

Marijuana skies
painted shroom mountaintops
into pains of mine,
tongue-tied in the shrewd blues;
tenderfeet to the riptide.

Post-time,
I could only sing
of rainbows
broken over frowning moons;
Nick Drake-like, dead up in the mind.

Wavering throughout,
not a pulse in sight
so I urged to move,
downward spiraled into..
then I threw up.

From this poem, I think you might get a kick out of my, "Poetry on Acid" piece.

I quite liked this. Especially the flush-right type arrangement. It makes the eye work more from line to line, giving an "inebriated feeling." Dazed.

Much love,

LR

This is good in its own craziness, an artful way of insanity. A drug scenery and its effects as mesmerizing and colorful at the beginning, a prism of a high but the aftermath harvests on your body and mind brutally. Nice reflection.

Indeed. As high as one may get, the crash and burn is typically universally harsh. Thank you, Vaness.. read more

Yes. A strong aftermath.. You're welcome.
I feel like this is what poetry would be if one would be high. Beautiful hallucinations. A physical and spiritual trip of the mind that instead of fading away into reality, just crashes down and wakes you up: "downward spiraled into... then I threw up"

This was full of very colourful imagery that was very trippy and dizzy, an appropriate ending.
It feels like a dream coursing through your veins looking for an opportunity to become reality.

A very fine analysis! Thank you, Ana. I'm glad you enjoyed.
This took me to a time of picking purple skirts behind the house in the field. Knowing what was to come and the trip we all would take. Wonderful use of thoughts and visions brought together to make me (the reader) travel to a different time.

Most welcome.
This poem alone can make someone with a vivid imagination travel to another dimension. I really liked the way the rhymes were built with long verses and short verses taking turns building a rhythm. The ending was unexpected but well constructed. Good poetry, really made me enjoy reading it.

I love your work and you are welcome.
This piece is indeed a vivid hallucination and I loved every drop of it. The imagery is so saturated, that the picture just soaks you up and you're living inside of it. These happen to be my favourite kind of poems; the ones that manage to carry you along with their words and introduce you to a new world. You happen to pen a lot of those.

This has such a unique tone to it and I just couldn't get enough of its artistry. Had to read it more than a couple of times because it left me speechless with its vivid detail. Needless to say: I loved it, and a big well done!
