The Writer

   His pen touches the blank paper. As he writers, a new world is created around him. It seems so real that he can describe everything even the smallest detail. His mind is focused on nothing but his fiction world. Everything he writes is real within his book. Bound between two leather covers. His characters speak to him like old friends, they share with him more than just their names and their secrets. His characters show him their past and he shows them their future. Then, as he finishes the page, he puts down his pen. The world he created, the world that knew him so well and loved him dearly, vanished and he had to build it back up until it devoured him and he felt that, unless he wanted to leave that world forever, he could no longer put down his pen.

Author's Note

Well, I thought we are all writers here so why not write a piece of somebody writing? Kind of confusing but this is what I came up with. I could add more and maybe sometime soon I will. Just not quite yet.

This is one of my favorite stories I have read here, it is so vivid and beautiful and inspiring. If you'd like, it might keep readers more on edge to write that "it is so real" instead of "it seems so real" in the third sentence, but that's just my shot at trying to be constructive. Oh, and the last few sentences do become a little confusing, but that may be just because the tense suddenly changes, nothing huge. Overall- really cool, I think I'm going to type up some more friends now =)

Our characters do inhabit our lines and words..but unlike the story you tell here...our characters return albeit less passionant than we originally introduced them....the story I will tell with Ralph is different than the one you will tell...all the more reason I read a lot of the authors offerings here...

I think I get it. He's not at peace/happy if he isn't writing, so after releasing his fabricated realm to the world he has no choice but to continue creating. When I read this, I saw lives and landscapes given life through the flowing of a pen. I love it.
