I walk around the cage. I growl at the people that stand around my cage and take picture. "What's wrong with him?" They always say. Well, how would you feel being trapped in a cage? You can't go out and have freedom. Catch your own food and leap farther than everyone else. You can't run as fast as possible. These bars restrain me; force me to stay in this horrible place. My food is handed to me at certain times and I am forced to share with another of my kind. She lies down without a care in the world and sleeps the day away. But, I can't stand it; this cage that keeps me captive is going to kill me... I don't want to die in this cage. I want to die out there in the wild where I can be free. Where I can have kids and show them the way of life and how to hunt but I can see that it's not going to happen. So now, I too lie in this cage and whimper because I know that this is the rest of my life. I have not accepted it but I know now that I am going to die in this terrible place.
Great story :) I not only thought of caged up animals, but also of people that want to be free while I was reading this. There are so many people out there that don't have that chance to do what they want, when they want to do it. So, like the animal in this story, they feel trapped and angry and hopeless.
Awesome work!
Instinct is what makes us who or what we are, people tend to think animals dont have feelings, or thoughts but I feel you captured the essence of such precious felines, A life incaged is death to these animals, there instincts are crushed and leaves them with a sense of worthlessness.
This is an eyeopener to those who see that being held captive against your own will is a living hell!

I do feel sorry for the animals locked up and when you can see the wildness gone in their eyes. Make me feel very sad. A very strong poem. You create a sad vision with this excellent poem.
