I tumble uncontrollably and struggle for air. My head tries to find the surface before I am swept off my feet again. Sand cuts up my legs and another wave crashes on top of me. I tumble, twist, and turn to no avail. I am confused as to which is up and which is down. My body begins to hiccup as I suck in salt water, my eyes seem to bulge, and my head pulses. I think of my family and wonder how they would react if I died. Moments and memories played before my hazy vision. My body felt light and tired but, finally, I found relief as I found the surface. I spat out water and coughed. I shook and tried to focus my blurry vision. The danger of drowning was over but that was enough ocean for me in one day.
