Doors Of Fragile Life

Doors Of Fragile Life

A Poem by Bubo
"

For Annie.

"

In Memory of Siobhan   19/11/2010

For Annie.

Buttercups faded

and laughter cried

sipped on warm Baileys

as sun died in the sky,

meadow of heaven

reaps dust of your soul

scattered to four corners

of our mourning world.

Your smile echoes

your hidden eyes sparkle

the world is a little lonelier

                 with you gone tonight

stars don't shine quite as bright

scattered autumn leaves stranded

while darkness has lain a blanket

across doors of fragile life

As you depart into glorious light

I write because I don't know what else to do. A wonderful woman, and a best friend to my good friend. Very very sad.

This is a perfect poetical eulogy; a dedicational homage and reflection of celebration to an absent friend. Until that day we all meet again in a better place!

Such a beautiful elegy; she must have been very special to merit such precious words.
I understand the compulsion to write, to put in concrete form that which you feel.

The poem was very deep and moving. You do really well expressing your thoughts. I always look to an ancient writer for advice... "For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten." Eccl. 9: 5.

we tend to fear what we don't know...or are are filled with insatiable curiosity...
we rue the end of fellowship with those we love... but what if death is nothing to fear...what if we are merely pupae in this life and are transformed in death into something eminently more beautiful and weightless...
We all leave this life and none return...maybe that is by choice...
that what they've found is so beautiful and thrilling that they would never return except to bring you there...if they could...
we judge what we do not know by what we do know...we all feel there must be something better for us in this life...why not in the next...
what if the next chapter for us felt like a climax that never ended...wouldn't we trade it all to feel that way?
Just some food for thought...
Sorry for your friend...I'm sure you ache...as would we all...
I posted a poem "what's next?" Give it a read. We've been thinking along the same lines...

That touched me Bubette, makes me hope think and believe that my beloved departed have gone to somewhere better ... of my own imagining, or yours, nicely done, sweetly done xxx
