Valentines Day

Valentines Day

A Poem by Bullet Soul

Remember Valentines day?

The day you sat alone

Against the curb outside your house

Waiting for your ride.

Remember the way

He gave you butterflies

Every time he kissed you

Every time he held your hand?

Remember the way

Your romance survived

Through anger and through tears

Remember when you had it all?

Remember the roses

That he always gave you

Every time that you felt lost?

He'd find your soul again.

Remember the way you loved him

And the way he said your name

Remember the way you felt

To know that he was yours?

Remember Valentines day

The day he lost his temper

The day you felt his fist

Against your fragile face

But after you felt roses

Against your fingertips

And you gave him your forgiveness

You knew he didn't mean it.

Remember your last day?

The day you laid alone

Inside the casket that they bought

When his fist became a knife.

Because you never let yourself forget

The way he gave you butterflies

The way he said your name

Your very first Valentines day.

The irony you weave in this one...I believe this could be reworked to give a better out put to the entire read...you use the theme:

Remember...

and then as the verse goes..loses momentum...
