Lost

Still remember the way you entered my life,
Still remember the way you became my life.
You chose someone else, I lost the right to love you,
You are still my life, so how do I live without you?

A storm in my heart rages and rain pours from my eyes,
My silent screams are like thunder and stormy winds my sighs.
You love someone else so why do I still think of you,
My tears do not stop when I've lost the right to cry for you.

People do not understand why I'm sad or why my face is tear-stained,
The problem is that you're altered but my feelings for you are unchanged.
Even after such bitter disappointments I refuse to believe we can't get through,
How can I, after all, I can't survive as I've already lost myself somewhere in you...

For anyone who has fallen in love and felt heartbreak, this poem perfectly captures the often confusing combinations of emotions we feel. Nothing makes sense and this is captured in your use of the juxtaposition "silent screams".

This poem was very simple and not complex, but it describes one of the most complex emotions in the world: Love. I think that the decision to opt for clear and simple as opposed to verbose and long-winded is what makes this poem all the more special.

This is classic poetry! I thought every single line was so deep and profound, but my absolute favorite was "My tears do not stop when I've lost the right to cry for you. " .... Very poignant and flowing. And also very bold. Beautiful work!
