Loneliness

Loneliness

A Poem by AliceWithAButterflySoul

I place another brick
On the barrier you can't see
I'm sorry but I can't
Let you witness this side of me
Soon it will be over
Then you'll finally see
Befriending me was a mistake
Just watch, in the end you'll be happy
I'm the dead weight
The burden holding you back
The misery in your heart
The emptiness you can't fill
As you draw near
I cautiously take two steps back
Until I'm too far deep
And I fall
Into this abyss called loneliness
To rot for the rest of my days
While I physically withstand the flames of hell's fires
But I feel it scorching my body
Praying for it to turn me into ash
So this cruel punishment can stop filling Satan's delight

Woah, this is pretty deep, and I feel it can really connect with the reader (at least myself) the way one feels when they are lonely. Great job.
