To All Good Women

Here's to good women

Who have fought against their plight

Gently and with grace

 

With hearts of lions

Boldly caring for their cubs

Nurturing their wounds

 

She can speak volumes

About humanities struggles

And  grieves, in her heart

 

Strong working mothers

Taking on many battles

Few are truly won

 

Struggling and fretting

No one see's her down and out

Tears kept to herself

 

Bravehearts one and all,

Private life set to the side,

Women that succeed

 

Thank God for women

We are no longer chattel

Choices set us free!

 

To all good women

That suffered and went to jail

This is a very powerful and positive poem, which reminds of the past struggles and those still to be fought. Wish more people are aware of the struggle that women when through to get to this point in society. Sadly, this is not the case. Thank you for sharing and reminding of the past with your poem.

Great piece! I love the imagery - very appropriate for such brave and strong women that have given us the foundation we still build on today. 'Choices set us free!' - Could her name have been 'Choices'?? :) I like reading between the lines... :)
