Hurtful Lie

Hurtful Lie

A Poem by C.S.John

"You are filled with hatred", he said
And she began to cry
He looked at her and shook his head
and left with no goodbye.

"I am filled with hatred", she told herself
And remembered all the things she had done
The things she didn't do for fame or wealth
but to help a beloved-one.
She looked back at the hugs she had given,
at the tears she had dried, and smiles she had shared,
at all the miles that she had driven
to calm some friend who was scared.
She relived all the moments of compassion.
all the times she had cried and had laughed,
Just to find herself in the gross situation
where she felt that she never had loved.
