Hometown Blues

Hometown Blues

A Poem by Cae

Tell me the brutal truth
And I'll paint it into beauty
Drip it in gold, devour it like the youth
In our days long since passed
Before we reached the foretold
We're always here now, almost dead
But I don't want to hang around in graveyards and hometown blues
Waiting for a bad enough bruise
To convince me I'd be better off
In places where the sun doesn't set
Tell me the brutal truth
And I'll leave these hometown blues
Can you?
I think it's time we lose
Cause I can't get stuck in hometown blues
