ALone

I sit in class

Day by day

 

People laugh, people play

Always with friends

 

But I am alone

Walking through the halls

 

I have a few friends

But when they’re not around

 

I am alone

 

I get made fun of

Everywhere I go

I try to fit in

But that makes it worse

 

 

All I know

Is none of my friends

Are in my classes

And that’s why I am alone

It is tough being a loner. I have been there and done that but eventually it does get better.

The plight of the loner at that age is pure torture. I remember students like that when I was a middle-school teacher. It broke my heart.
