Love Like Oxygen

Love Like Oxygen

A Poem by Caleb

If it be said that you should pop

into nothing at all, the vastness of air,

then maybe I too, should also stop

this supposition of life - this cavern of care.

And then, I hope, as we seep into nothing,

that we will be sealed in a sturdy abode.

Perhaps a balloon, or a bag, or something!

A keeper of us, a place to grow old.

And if this place should only exist in our dreams,

may we be inhaled in the very same breath.

For even though, untimely it seems,

for me, it would be, the perfect death.

I found this to be an interesting write and went back a second time
to read. Very well penned with some intriguing thoughts there.

Well done!

Do you care more about what you are saying or the manner in which you are saying it? Were you trying to fit your words to a form? I know there are those purists out there, that sacrifice kittens and puppies to the dark powers that be so they might squeeze out the perfect sonnet; but I am more an anarchist - you might say, were you to say. I simply find more meaning (in general) in what is being said as opposed to the form the words take. It makes me a horrible critic of poetry... but I know what I like, and unless I am completely off base on this - I like the concept of love up until and after death that I find here.
