Twisted Points Of View

Twisted Points Of View

A Poem by Candice.Renee
"

when someone just can't let go...yikes! lol

"
I
scribble
your name
m  i  l  l  i  o  n
times
over
& over
changing
the shapes of vowels
& constants
that form the essence
of a name that tingles
the tip
of my
tongue...

letters flutter
like
butterfly eyelashes
flickering
fast
becoming
beating follicles
batting bashfully
bold
& beautifully
darker than dark
thoughts trigger tender sediments
smearing mascara
provoking pain to come trickling down
cheeks staining rosy red hues
that once blushed at thoughts of you

emotions painted canvases
called skin
beautiful blending masterpieces
with watercolors
& when rains came
art becomes
life

...your paintbrush...

violently strokes my ego
green with envy
& major arteries become
black shells
holding
rotten hearted amour
while boiled blood
run red
heated
& happy
ready for revenge
wishing to avenge

...us...

I
scribble
your name
m  i  l  l  i  o  n
times
over
& over
jabbing holes in paper
cutouts clipped
in your patented stance
paper me & yous
dance & prance in
pop up fantasy worlds
in here
I'm still
YOUR
candy girl
licking candy wrappers
swirling bittersweet memories
within my mouth
lingering in our after taste
sugar sweet kisses
spreading
salty saline solutions
cascading from irises

& if I
can't
have you

no one else will...

Mmmm, I know that feeling. Nicely expressed in your poem. Why do we torture ourselves by thinking over and over about that person?

Intriguing piece here, I love the string of images of the eyes, how it wraps around this poem. I also admire how it comes around full circle, ending around the same lines in which it began. They say the eyes are the windows to the soul and I believe you've captured significantly more than that within this piece.
