A Poem by Cara
"

Im sorry for anyone who may be sensitive but i just wanted my feeling to be let out.

"
Me being who i am, only a 17 year old girl in a small town. im not popular, im not pretty, im not anything special. i had few things i loved doing until last night. i had the fire dept. team. all of us volunteers, me being 17 i legally wasnt really a firefighter. but i did post picture of what i was doing at the fire dept., when people saw the pictures i posted people started talking bad about me. girls calling me a fake fire fighter. you dont have to be 18 to be a first responder. as a member of the fire dept. i felt sad being there, now i feel like im in peoples way when im there ive decided that i wanted to quit the fire dept. i will never love anything else so much. i loved my fire dept team they were like my family. me not having my dad anymore and my mother not wanting me. i finally felt like i belonged.
along with the fire dept thing, i use to love the rebel flag (for those of you that do not know what it it please goggle it) with that being such a hot topic. being called a fake rebel i pulled off the sticker from my car. i have decided to give up on alot of things.

First of all, this piece of writing just about tore me apart. I'm sorry, I know you don't know who I am, but this was so painful to read. Don't let the jealousy or hate of others stop you from doing what is important to you. These people who would do something like this are nobody and you will see as time goes on, they will fade from your life faster than the sun sets on any given day. Do you feel like you are in the way because of what was said or has your firefighter family made you feel this way. Personally I think it is just a state of mind created by these bullies. It is hard, I know how hard it is but you need to try to ignore them. Keep your eyes focused on your goals and forget them, because people like that amount to nothing. Sorry to go off like this, but this kind of thing, mean people, really upsets me.

Never give up on what makes you happy. Others may not understand or will criticise you but don't give them the power to change who you are meant to become.
