Short story about 16 year old female who was in a two car accident and her recovery

Entry #1-Day 1
Well, first day at the hospital after my brother wrecked dad's truck into another car that had lost control. I was in the passenger seat and staring out my window when the car in front of us starting going from left lane to right lane before flipping multiple times. My brother couldn't stop in time and the truck slammed into the passenger side of the car. That was the last thing I saw before my seat belt snapped and I went through the windshield. When I finally woke up hours later, the doctors told me I had to stay in the hospital until I was fully healed. I had internal bleeding in my stomach, an minor head injury, broken right femur and left arm, but they say it might be more serious then it seems, so I wasn't allowed to move much. So, the only thing I'm allowed to do is write and talk. At least, no one's dead, my brother made sure to give me that info as soon as I woke.

Entry #2-Day 4
Last night, before the nurse came in to give me my pain and sleep meds, a little girl, about 8 or 9, came into my room. Her face was covered in bandages, the only thing facial feature that was visible was her left blue eye. The white around it was crimson red, I guessed a blood vessel must have busted. I looked in her hands and saw that she was carrying a chalkboard. I also noticed that her hands and arms where covered with bandages. On the board it read: 'My name is Sally. What's yours?'. Sally talked to me through the chalkboard for a while until I heard the nurse coming down the hall. Before running out the door, Sally slipped me a note with "Room 202" written with red crayon. I was gonna mention Sally to the nurse, but if Sally comes back I won't be alone.

Entry #3-Day 5:
I just got back from getting my first CT scan. There's good news and bad news. Good News: no more internal bleeding. Bad News: I have 4 misplaced spine plates and I might as well get comfortable, because I'll be in this hospital for a while. On my bedside table, there was a note written in red crayon. "Hope you Heal well, so we could play hopscotch" it read. It was from Sally. Being 16 and bed bound with no one speaking positively about my future, this little girl I just met gave me hope. Even if the only hope was to play hopscotch in the hallway of a hospital with a 8 year old girl. I smiled and hold the note to my chest and fell asleep.

Entry #4- Day 10
Sally has been visiting me nightly before the nurse came by. When the nurse leaves, Sally runs back into the room and stays there until I fall asleep. Last night was different than any other night. I was telling Sally about the animals at the zoo and telling her if it was okay with her parents, we'll go there when we were released. Out of no where, my eyes were fluttering shut, this was strange, I haven't had my medicine yet, Sally knew this. She stood up and grabbed the panic button and started smashing it for dear life. When my eyes finally closed, I heard her footsteps running out the door. When I opened my eyes again, the doctor was shining his light in them. Turned out I was dehydrated. I hope I didn't scare Sally.

Entry #5- Day 35
Today is my last day in the hospital. They are gonna put me in home therapy. The nurse helped me get dressed and helped me put on my crutches. I asked her if I could go visit room 202, Sally's room. She gave me a confused look, but walked me over to the room. Sally's bed was hidden behind a curtain. I didn't want to say goodbye to Sally, but she told me tomorrow she was being transferred to a hospital out of state, this was gonna be the last time, I'll be able to see her. I had to thank her for helping me focus on my recovery. When the nurse pushed the curtains back, I became numb, I couldn't move, I could barely speak. Sweet young Sally was hooked to tubes and machines. "What happened?" I asked the nurse, staring at the comatose girl. She said Sally and her mother was brought into the hospital 35 days ago after they where in a car accident that her drunk mother caused. Her mother was her last living relative until she was instantly killed when another car crashed into theirs. Sally was barely hanging on when the EMS got there. She was covered in deep cuts and burns. The doctors did everything they could to keep her alive, which meant these machine were breathing for her. Two people in the other car survived, but one was severely injured and the other walked away. The passenger was being released today. The nurse continued to say Sally was brain dead and was getting unplugged the first thing in the morning. I sat at her bed side and realizing we will never go to the zoo together. I pulled the notes out of my pocket and smiled. The nurse looked at me, confused, and asked "Are you okay?". I looked at her and back at little Sally in the hospital bed as I spoke "how does a comatose 8 year old girl, walk down to my room every night for 35 days and no one noticed?" I started to nervously laugh "My brother told me no one died-" I was interrupted by tears streaming down my face. The nurse closed her eyes and put her hands on my shoulders as I cried for Sally

I love the idea of journal entries for scary writing. This reminds me of this game I played call Evil Within, you'd find sinister journal entries scattered across the game, reading this gave me the same eerie feeling I got while playing that game. Good job and congratulations on getting 2nd place in my contest. :)
