Liar's prayer

Liar's prayer

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Reading ancient writers and computer was down. Started writing some new poetry. I hope you enjoy.

"
                                  Liar's prayer

My kind and new friend. We sat together in the darkness of the Irish Tavern in Austin, Texas.
We drank the good whiskey and heavy beer.
Her words begin to open up as the strong whiskey brake down the walls of disappointment.
Her coldness of eyes and thoughts become more warmer and fearless.

She asked me. What the use of love? Are we just giving opportunity for someone to tear us
apart and leave us for dead?

I ordered a double of Black Velvet and told my new friend.
"Sometimes we need good whiskey and drink.
Allowed us to forget.
We are soil and old. Forgotten."

I watched the once time  beauty queen accept my words with sad eyes and I whispered.
We need the lair's prayer sometimes. Beauty fade and anger take over.
All we have left is the ancient and lonely memories.
"Take me.
Touch me.
Make me scream.
Whisper liar's words of love.
Let's swim in leftover joy and pleasure.
No winner or loser my friend.
When there is nothing to lose or gain.
Just hold me tight for a moment or  a dance."

My friend smiled and laughed. She told me. "Your words are true. Sometime we can't win or lose.
Maybe it good to desire a draw in love. Maybe laughter and good conversation is better than
desiring too much.

My new friend came nearer. Laid her head on my shoulder. She raised her face up and asked.
"Would you take me dancing tonight?"

I kissed her and told her. "I would be honored. "
She asked can love be reborn?

I smiled and told her. "Love come when love desired. Can't force love or make another person
love you. Love take time and kindness. Many kinds of love. Real love is hard work and two strong
people. Better to not rush love. Love come when love desired."

"Love take time and kindness. Many kinds of love. Real love is hard work and two strong people."

~ I really like those lines, it really tells how love is process and how it has many faces. Love comes, it will, more often it comes unexpected, most of the time it takes longer to come. I remember a poem I made in valentines greetings it says:

Love has no boundaries...

Love takes loyalty,

Love takes trust,

Love takes effort,

Love takes a lot of patience,

Love takes courage and confidence,

Love is infinite,

Love is to live,

Love is to search...

Love is taking risk,

Love is caring,

Love is kind,

Love is compassionate & passionate,

Love is hoping and wishing,

Love can be anything...

Love is Love...

I know that everyone knows that a soul isn't complete without its other half.

Thank you Ahena for reading and the positive comment.
How true, Coyote. "You Can't Hurry Love" is one of my favorite oldies and it says so much about love, as does your poem. Two people both must work hard to ensure that love, once born, grows strong. So many aren't willing to put in the time or effort it takes, so love dies and people hurt. Good work.

One of the good song of my generation. "You can't hurry love." Thank you for reading and the comment.. read more
The words you have reaped from the readings of the ancient masters are wise ones indeed as it is true and a lesson many have learned too late in that love cannot be forced.
You have delivered this message in a way that touches my heart and spirit - as you always do for your writings walk a well worn path of reality!
I am ever eager to read your words!!!

Thank you for reading and the comment. Old memories get better with time.
Indeed, loves enters a life when it wants to and we have little control over the emotion. It's true, sometimes lust disguises itself as lust...in the "touch me, take me, make me scream" sort of way, but it does not last and sooner or later two strangers are left reminiscing on barstools in a small town in Nowhere, U.S.A. I love your slice of life poetry, Coyote. Happy New Year to you. Lydi**
