Whiskey lullaby

                            Whiskey lullaby

I watched her undress slowly. She have found me drinking whiskey alone at the Monterey Bay.  I drank the whiskey and sang poetry to the Pacific.
--
My great love,  my great and terrible love.
You told me one.  I have found you and do no fear dear Johnnie.
I will love and honor you forever and a day.
I remember you sweet Jenny.
Your long legs and river blue eyes make come alive and wish.
Great love are like the storms of the wild sea.
Just become myth and tale for the  lover of the sea and the kiss.
---
She slapped my face and you told me. "Dear Poet. The past is gone and you can't hold regret. You have sang the whiskey lullaby enough. Dead love is just tangle memory we must forget and create better ones. She took me to her home. She took her Summer dress  off slowly and  she took my clothing off. Her soft and warm body made the darkness becomes more kinder. She held me like a child and she sang songs of love to me.

My December love. My Poet prince.
Live for me and forget the heaviness of yesterday.
Skin to skin.
Mouth to mouth.
Legs and arms must become twisted in new need and want.
Please dark Poet.
Live for me and please stay in Monterey with me my love.
Allow fingertips to dance on wanting skin and let's find the place where love can grow and we can
know sweet splendor and joy.
----
I told her. You had been my savior for many months. You and Monterey make me write and create. I needed the whiskey. Poets and writers love the whiskey lullaby. You are right sweet Susan. Damn drink and memories must end and I'm so thankful for you. Dear Susan. Lets make no promises that we must break. Lets open new doors and places gently. Susan, you are a blessed gift to a undeserving man. I long to stay with you, as long as you need me.

Dear friend, the whiskey lullaby is something us poets know too well. The feeling of lonesome I like to think of. We find ways to ease our pain whether it be actual whiskey or something that has the same effect. We use it too often. Those who are around us enough will see us drown in it and if we're lucky enough they know why. I feel from your words here, you had someone who understood why you use it, perhaps the one you spoke of used it too. That's just what comes to mind. This is something I can relate to, especially now anyway.

Thank you Terry for reading and the comment. I do appreciate.
The reality is sometimes love is not enough. Tender regrets to which we raise a glass on lonely nights. There are some minor edits to be made, but, as always, a beautiful piece.

Life experiences are a roller coaster of a ride. You expressed many different emotions, but love stands out the most. Way to go. Eva

Totally loved these words, don't know why but they stuck out to me. All liqour does though is flood your mind in thinking impure thoughts and leads you to all kinds of phases in your mind... Well written write though.

Thank you Kelcee. I appreciate the comment.
Whiskey and love are both medicines for aching heart. But they have a great difference: Whiskey is temporary, true love is forever. :)
I always enjoy reading your stories, sir. God bless.

This is stunningly beautiful. It has the rhythm of the sea.

Not 'just words', John, but words only you can write. You share your experiences, fact or fiction, in such an emotional manner that your readers see and feel both the strengths and weaknesses of love. The passion's etched in need yet lingers as a lesson in how to .. .. .. or not.

On this occasion the liquor seems to have mixed with your life blood forever Susan - or is it Jenny, appears to be THE one Perhaps, maybe. Your beautiful lovers have all been special-precious!

dear John... Love is a hurricane of feelings...
with a hundred mile wind. The eye of the hurricane
is unpredictable... Romance is coming close to shore...
button down the shutters... and hold her through the storm🌊...

It's difficult to comment on what you do not know. Touch wood, I've never suffered heartbreak, lost love, the emptiness f hopelessness, but I can say that your writing was a joy to read and transported me into the shoes of the whiskey quaffing fella in your piece. Thank you
