The Poet of song

The Poet of song

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

We lost the Poet of song.

"

The Poet of song had left us. Leonard Cohen.

The Poet of song

Thank you Leonard Cohen. You taught me. Words had great meaning and could come alive. You were the Poet of song. I saw you in concert in 1978 and 1979 in Germany. You were a legend to many already. The great Poet had left us. He shall never be forgotten. The word-men and word-women will hold dearly to his special song and voice. I miss you already Leonard Cohen. I hope you are singing in the tower of song.

He had many great songs. He will be missed.
He created an emotively forceful listening and yet is his song soothing. I listened to the first one. It's a chanson, it's comforting. Thank you for creating a tribute to him.

I agree. Leonard Cohen will be missed.
Massive support can be seen... Awesome dedication to a legend and a nice person. Keep it up!!
I'm sure he's doing the same work in the other world... And his fellow mates are appreciating him there too...
Sad yet memorable.... It sucks... to know such departure moments...
Good piece though.... keep writing...

Hello Coyote, what a lovely tribute! I recently read Book of Mercy as apart of a Uni paper, and was moved by his words. I knew him only for his music prior to two years ago. I liked your phrase 'you were the Poet of song' perfectly expressed. Cheers Starz

I agree. Movies and the new singers. Keep him alive. He was a living legend.
another one lost....i am starting to really feel old...all the actors, comedians, musicians and poets are gone...or at least many of them.

only two of the Beatles left---it's very sad, but we are left with all of his music, words etc.
so he will always be with us.

this is a nice tribute, Coyote...

really nice...i had my inspiration to writing from my best friend in college...she has been gone since 1993....ALS...

and another close friend who died in 1984 in a fire...

my other inspirations to start writing...simon and garfunkel...always feuding but still around.

"Hallelujah" is a favorite of many.
