Listen, remember and learn.

Listen, remember and learn.

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Just words.

"
                                Listen, remember and learn
--------------------------------------------
                                             Listen
I love the misty mornings.
I love the chill of Lake St. Clair lake when I sit alone near her.
I listen to the lake and I listen to the morning sun.
They whispered.
Johnnie, what have you become?
-------------------------------------------------
                                                Remember
Lake St. Clair whispered to me.
Where is the wild men of yesterday?
Where is the free-man who held the great dreams?
The great dreamer became the sleeping man.
Lake St. Clair whispered to me.
Wake-up sleeping man.
Life don't wait for you.
You must find a fight and save someone.
Maybe save yourself?
------------------------------------------------------
                                                   Learn
The morning sun warm my cold face.
I feel the sun caress and the kind sun whispered to me.
Wake-up sleeping man.
Life is long and a million things to be done.
You are not dead yet.
Find something, love something.
Be brave.
Better to swim in the sweetness of love and learn.
Love can be sweet and life can be worthwhile..

perhaps more than just words? your words are far too wise for that too be true. i love the sentiment behind "listen, remember, and learn"
seems as though the lesson is personal to you and that's what brought this piece alive.

Lovely, I enjoyed the wording of such powerful memories and teachings that you had experienced in your past. I suggest you find time to write a book because a few of your quotes will rest in my mind forever.

Thank you for sharing this. I really enjoyed how you broke down each phase of being near this lake. At first I thought there were a couple of grammar errors, but on 2nd read it appears to be dialect, and adds an interesting element to the poem. Very nice.

Thank you for reading and the comment. I do appreciate.
Nature and water can be spiritual beings in themselves. If we listen to the inner voice hard enough, we can learn and be inspired by them. You've brought to life the wisdom you've incurred and shared it in a way that effective.

I took away from this the message that life is shorter than any of us realize. We must do all we can with the little time we are given and make the best of it.

This is an inspiring poem, Coyote.

Well done.

yes truthfully very different roads but still that is what counts, learning from each other.
I read in your words, the song of life itself. This poem is a beautiful reminder that the learning, the growing must never stop. And most crucially, the love. There, besides Lake St. Clair, under the warm, caressing sun, you touched the deepest, most spiritual part of you. Sending much love and light your way. Thank you sir, for this deeply introspective poem.
