Black roses

Black roses

A Poem by Coyote Poetry

                              Black roses
Cynthia, eyes of stone with a cigarette in mouth. Whiskey breathe woman, looked me up and down,  like a place of mystery. She asked me, what did you need soldier?

I smiled at her. When I looked at her, I saw poisonous snake and dangerous curves. I handed her a dozen black roses and a bottle of Black Velvet whiskey.  I told her. Your heart is black as the night, your kiss was addicting and so damn sweet. Your lips, sweeter than the Fall Michigan honey.

She smiled at me and she whispered. Love is folly and sin, rarely pure and fine. Sacred and mystical places for kindred spirits. You and I. We are haste and waste. We love the whiskey more than love. We look for escape before we try to find the mercy of love. Fools are fools always. Wanting little, stealing what they can.

She held the black roses, she held the Black velvet whiskey and she asked. Can you dance Soldier? The kind gifts I do appreciate. The night is long and you and I. Destine to open door of some pain and some misery.

Wow!! I love this!
Gave me the feeling of a smoky old west saloon, latent with sin and sweaty desires. Walking in is knowing what is waiting for you and not only inviting it but bringing the devil precious offerings for the pleasure. I'm in love with this piece!

The description of her was tantalizing and the flicking of her soft poisonous tongue, electrifying.
"love is folly and sin, rarely pure and fine. Sacred and mystical places for kindred spirits. You and I. We are haste and waste. We love the whiskey more than love."

And he as well as we are captivated and drawn in like willing prey to passionate slaughter...

Oh but it was worth it

I love black roses- and all roses at that- purple also beautiful- as for the black velvet, snakes etc- each must do what they need to do but we pay for our choices and actions- black velvet clothing black roses can ignite the redness and depth of love without the sad lost harmful side of pain and misery- wonderful as your poems always are🌹

Thank you Julie. Some women, more dangerous than others.
Enticing, the reader is drawn in. Hooked in and enthralled by the promise of a main dish of desire and a dessert of pain and misery. Great writing Coyote.

oh yes, what a sensual scene...and i do believe that..."love is folly and sin and rarely fine" yes, but when it is fine, it is particularly incredible.
