Robert, Uncle Bob

Robert, Uncle Bob

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Sadness

"

                      Robert, Uncle Bob

My teacher, my family and my friend.
My world is more lonely without you.

You were safe place for me as a child.
You were my hero and you taught me how to live,
you taught me what family was.
Love, listen and a wide open door.

I try to follow your example,
field trips, fishing trips and a home filled with love for my children, my grandchildren.

You and Aunt Pat.
Kind angels to many.

I wished I told you,
Thank you Uncle Bob,
I love you,
my dearest friend.

The realization on someone special not being in our life is more sorrowful than it seems to be.... air doesn't stop blowing...nor any rain drop goes backwards to the clouds at loss of that special person...nothing changes except our love and realizations for them....
Almighty's grace be upon you and your family John....thanks for sharing your words with us!

I can appreciate this one John. I too had an Uncle Bob who became like a father to me after my own dad passed away. Uncle Bob passed a few years ago, but I was lucky to be able to tell him how much he meant to me.
A good write john. Thank you for this.

We must find time to be with our kind elders. Thank you Ted for reading and the kind words.
poignant reminder to all says i! sublime emotive poetry Coyote Man! i think most people can point to our "Second Parents" as a source of acceptance and warmth ... the contrast of even one child who has neither from parents or second ... is stark ... but that drifts away from you beautiful expression .. i believe that your Uncle Robert sees and hears you even now sir!

Thank you Lydia for your kind words. I do appreciate.
My son Robert was named after his fathers Uncle Bob who lived in Nova Scotia in Canada.
We made a trip to his home and discovered a style of living that lingers in our heart and soul.
We can relate to your poem. truly, Pat

We need to thank our elders, teachers and friends. Today. Tomorrow may not come. Thank you my friend.. read more
Amen, Coyote. I am so sorry for your loss of your Uncle Bob who “taught me how to live”. I send my Sincere sympathy and condolences to you in your sad time. Your beautiful poem-tribute shows how deeply you love this man that raised you like a son, and his wife who shared in that. “I wished I told you”- you teach us an important lesson-to tell people when they are alive, how much we love them. There is no doubt that he is looking down on you from heaven now and that he knows how much you love and thank him, he knows.
