I love River Inn . . . my favorite hang-out in the Big Sur area! I have a recent picture posted here with some Adirondack chairs in the Big Sur river behind the restaurant. I have no cell service here & never miss it. People stop by my place (strangers) to use my landline if they can't find someone's place or if they have car trouble. You are very lucky. I visit Big Sur in late May 2018. I was station in Monterey for three years in 1992-1994. I love Big Sur.

A respite from electronics is often needed. So many people are addicted to their gadgets. (including me). Nature and the sea are healing to all. The days before Wi-fi, computers and cell-phones were more pleasant for so many.

been there once when i was hitchhiking through highway 1 there was a side of theroad restaurant where i had some coffee with a little brandy i had stashed in my bag yes there was nothing but highway and ocean to contune my journey in big sur, the rest is history thank you for sharing.

Never been there, but I can just imagine the beauty simply from pictures I've seen. Added to that the peace and solitude marked only by the roaring surf and crashing waves. Hmmmm. I definitely gotta get there sometime. Thanks for the inspiration.
