Who is free and who is not

Who is free and who is not

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

We create our prisons.

"

We weave our journey,
strings and ropes decisions,
take us to where we belong.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once warrior,
the body is old,
the mind is tire.
He is still a warrior,
now he is the teacher,
look into his eyes.
You can see everything.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Listen well,
the old woman, the old man,
had lived,
had saw many things,
if we pay attention,
great lessons to be learned.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are all, Natives.
We live upon kind earth and one day.
We shall be gone.
The land befriend us with food,
the water shared her blessing for us to be alive,
the sun, the moon.
All of us can see.
My brothers, my sisters,
we share the days, we share the night.
No-one own the earth,
we loan from her only,
and we must be kind to dear Mother Nature.

What I most relate to is your opening line about how we create our own prisons. It's such an unexpected surprise to end up becoming much more free as I've become old & disabled. I don't mind the tough stuff at all becuz the rewards are so great, in finally learning to walk gently on this journey. Excellent message to calm our souls (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Thank you Margie. I agree, I learn to enjoy life in my old age. I make time for the things I enjoy.

Truth, Coyote! So much here to consider. We’re mere specks on this earth, yet can do so much good and bad to Nature and our fellow humans. The warriors see this truth because they see death up close, at ground level.

The older generations have much to teach the young ones about life and how to live a good one , so that if there is indeed an afterlife karma will be kind .

i am a teacher, Coyote...and this poem makes me ponder a question...was i a warrior once upon a different lifetime...or am the warrior now...after all the experiences shared and then remembered...
hard to tell which...
