The madness train

The madness train

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Time to know what real pleasure is. Before it is too late.

"
    The  Madness train

            I'm twisted up.
            Hogties to bullshit.

            I'm strangled with useless things.
I can't recognize my face in the mirror.

            Life based on my salary.
            Paying bills.
            Buying more useless things.

            New generation of children.
            Always wanting more.

How many toys do you need?

Today I will go to the River.
Sit and try to find my mind again.

Take my child to the park.
            Toss a baseball.
            Shoot a few baskets.

            Must stop this madness.
            Put away the video games.
            Turn off the televisions.

            Go outside.

Feel the sun on my face.

            Get un-twisted.
            Get un-hogties to the B.S.

            Get off the madness train.

Live life for the real pleasures.

             Friends and family.

A reminder, and I cannot deny it's necessity, for this society and for me. This takes me by the shoulders and shakes me. So thank you for bringing notice to our own complacency. Something must be done. I think I should take some time to rediscover my own mind as well.

this is almost like a slap to the face of this generation. I watch TV, I screw around on my Ipod, on my computer, video games, and isolate myself so much from the real world, I lost sight of who I even was.

So true. We do get caught up in many useless things. Such as TV, video games, etc. Outstanding poem. Real points and true to the end. Great job. Lovin' it. :D

recently i have been watching less television and doing more reading of books and gardening and hiking. it makes you feel better when you lay in your bed at night. it makes you feel like you are invincible and you can look at yourself in the mirror and be proud. the poem you present here shows this feeling brilliantly. before you go outside and sit in a field everything feels dramatic and everything feels impossible. doing nothing in a field is better than doing nothing on a couch.
as usual no spelling error and nothing wrong with your grammar haha,
you are a great example to us beginners and you show us what is far more important. thank you for sharing :)

J'adore! I understand where you're coming from. Social media has gotten our children's distraction and attention to the point where they're not interested in real pleasures of life. Its sad.

Solid good poem. Good theme, finding the better, more important things in life. Nice work.

"Today I will go to the River. / Sit and try to find my mind again." Wonderful line. Really captured the image of what life was really about. Could feel this poem pretty well through mirror neurons. Made me want to burst toward the end, could hardly hold all of the swelling of the hog ties to the bullshit.
