The Lonely Mountain

The Lonely Mountain

A Poem by Castilios
"

A Poem Inspired by The Hobbit

"
Fire was burning into the night
Smoke was congesting the warm skylight
The roar of the beast we could not let go
Desolation in the air began to grow
5 The women and children screamed with fright
As the buildings and boats were soon to ignite
While brave men prepared to join the fight
The gust of his wings began to blow
From the lonely mountain
10 He appeared like a meteorite
Wreaking havoc in his flight
Upon the highest tower lay the greatest crossbow
To the top he climbed to load the only ammo.
The beast locked within his sight
   15  From the lonely mountain
